Lorie A TumaAbout Me

As an Instructor at Central Michigan University (CMU), teaching in the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Leisure Services Administration, Lorie’s commitment consists of providing instruction in the Commercial Recreation concentration and Event Management and Hospitality minor. She advises students, signs majors, and participates in department, college, and institution committee work.

She teaches classes in Commercial Recreation, Management in Leisure Services, Tourism, and International Tourism and coordinates domestic and international field experience and service learning projects.

In addition to areas of instruction at CMU, she shares her educational skills by serving as Chairperson of the First Year Experience Advisory Council (FYE), Faculty Advisor for Meeting Professionals International (MPI), and Ambassador for the International Society of Travel and Tourism Educators (ISTTE). Lorie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Development and a Master’s Degree in Administration, both from Central Michigan University. She is currently writing her dissertation and completing a Doctoral Degree in Education with a cognate in Teacher Leadership.
